Thanks to Cheryl Walter for these Throwback photos: In the spring of 2013, when I was the Director of Bands at Norwin High School, my cohorts and I took our Jazz Band to NYC for a non-traditional Jazz Ensemble trip. To this day, it was the best trip I ever took with a high school age group. We spent all day in Harlem and played with Gerald Hayes in Marjorie Eliot's living room. Then, we saw Tom Harrell with Esperanza Spalding at the Village Vanguard. It was the type of trip that really engaged in a meaningful way. Thanks to Cheryl for bringing this back up. I miss these people. #throwback🔙
